About Sign PDF

The days of printing a PDF, signing by hand, scanning, and emailing back are over. The Sign PDF tool lets you add a typed electronic signature to any PDF document directly in your browser — no printer, no scanner, and no dedicated e-signature software required.

Electronic signatures are legally recognised in most jurisdictions under laws such as the eSign Act (USA), eIDAS Regulation (EU), and their equivalents worldwide. A typed name signature with a digital timestamp satisfies the "intent to sign" requirement for most business agreements, contracts, and approvals.

Signature placement options:

  • Bottom Right: The standard position for document signatures, aligning with printed signature lines. Recommended for contracts.
  • Bottom Left: Left-margin signature placement.
  • Bottom Center: Centred footer position.
  • Top Right: Header-level placement for initial or approval stamps.

The signature is rendered in a handwriting-style font and embedded directly in the PDF page content, making it visible in all PDF viewers and when the document is printed. A timestamp is automatically added beneath the signature text showing the date of signing.

For documents that require full legal non-repudiation with cryptographic certificates (such as qualified electronic signatures under eIDAS), a dedicated certificate-based signing service is recommended. Our tool provides a practical typed electronic signature for everyday business use.

After signing, consider adding password protection so the signed document cannot be modified after you send it. For documents containing sensitive personal details, you may also want to redact any unnecessary information before signing and distributing.

Privacy: Your name and the document are processed over HTTPS and deleted within one hour. No account is required.
