About PDF to JPG
The PDF to JPG converter renders each page of your PDF as a raster JPG image. This is useful when you need to embed PDF content in a website, share a quick visual preview, upload to a platform that does not accept PDF files, or create thumbnail images from individual pages.
JPG (JPEG) uses lossy compression, which keeps file sizes small while delivering visually acceptable quality for most purposes. The DPI (dots per inch) setting controls the resolution of the output images:
- 72 DPI: Optimised for web display. Smallest file sizes, suitable for website thumbnails and quick previews.
- 150 DPI: Standard quality. Good balance between file size and sharpness for general use, including emails and slideshows.
- 300 DPI: Print-quality resolution. Produces the sharpest images with larger file sizes, suitable for printing or high-zoom detailed viewing.
All pages in the PDF are converted simultaneously and delivered as a ZIP archive, so you can download the full set with one click. Each image is named sequentially (page-001.jpg, page-002.jpg, etc.) for easy sorting.
If you need lossless image output with transparency support, consider using our PDF to PNG converter instead. PNG files are larger but retain exact pixel fidelity, which matters for logos, diagrams with fine lines, or text at small sizes.
For the reverse operation — combining multiple JPG images into a single PDF document — use our JPG to PDF tool.
